About Us:

Welcome to Vindobona, the oldest and most prestigious stamp club in Austria. In our association, you’ll find members of all ages, united by a shared passion for traditional philately (stamps) and postal history (letters and covers).

Our goal is to build, expand, and showcase high-quality collections. Among our members are researchers, professional philatelists and experts, ensuring a high standard within the club.

In our members’ magazine “VINDOBONA NACHRICHTEN“ you’ll find both philatelic articles, updates on the club’s activities and news.

Our Gatherings:

Our members meet weekly on Mondays at 7:00 PM at Café Zartl (1030 Vienna, Rasumofskygasse 7) for the so-called „Kleine Vorlage“ (Small Presentation). A member’s collection or part of a collection is presented for about an hour. Afterwards our members discuss, chat, and trade philatelic items.

Several times a year, interesting presentations and the so called „Große Vorlage“ (Large Presentation) take place at Café Landtmann (1010 Vienna, Universitätsring 4).

How Can I Become a Member?

Are you a serious collector with one or more areas of specialization where you have expert knowledge and corresponding collections? If so, you are in the right place.

You can reach out to us via email, through our website, or by attending our gatherings every Monday from 7:00 PM at Café Zartl. You can also contact one of our members or the board, who will then refer you further.

A prerequisite for membership is a philatelic presentation „Vorlage“. In this presentation, you introduce your area of collecting, either by showing collection sheets or through a PowerPoint presentation. In case you cannot make it to Vienna, please send your presentation to a board member. The board will then decide on your admission at its next meeting.

What Does Membership Cost?

The annual membership fee is €100, starting 2025.

We are very pleased to welcome serious and passionate philatelists, regardless of age, gender or nationality, with whom we can share our love for stamp collecting.
